New Delhi. Former Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday, a day after leaving the Congress. Jyotiraditya Scindia took membership in the party headquarters in the presence of BJP President JP Nadda.
Jyotiraditya Scindia, who was once close to Rahul Gandhi in the Congress, resigned from the primary membership of Congress on the day of Holi, after which 22 MLAs of Madhya Pradesh Congress also left the party. The Bharatiya Janata Party may send Jyotiraditya Scindia to the Rajya Sabha.
National President JP Nadda said that all BJP workers welcome Scindia. He said that our party is democratic and the Scindia family is like our member. Nadda said that everyone in the BJP is given an opportunity to speak freely. Scindia will be given a chance to work by joining the mainstream of the party.
For us Rajmata Ji has been the ideal and for all of us she has been a leader giving vision and direction. He helped the party to advance its ideology from infancy. I extend my heartfelt greetings on my behalf and on behalf of all the workers.
Jyotiraditya Scindia said that thanks to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister who gave me a place in the party.
