Patna. Kanhaiya Kaushik, the leader of the student unit of the ruling Janata Dal United, Bihar, was shot dead. Amar Kant Jha and Dharmendra have been arrested in this connection. The person who allegedly fired at Kush is absconding.

Kaushik was a JDU spokesperson and vice president of AN College Students Association. He had filed a police complaint against Kush and his associates on Tuesday. Before that in the posters of the Holi Milan program, the names of both Kush and his associates were not printed, they were heard saying on both sides. According to police sources, Kush called Kaushik a few hours later, stating that he wanted to reconcile and requested that they have a meeting in Patel Nagar at night. The matter was not resolved there and Kush got angry and opened fire, killing Kaushik. According to police, a close aide of Kaushik was also shot. He has been admitted to the hospital. After this incident Kush, Jha and Dhamendra fled from there.
