Karachi. Pakistan's experienced wicketkeeper Omar Akmal is under threat of a ban. The PCB has made two allegations of corruption violation on Akmal and if Akmal is found guilty, it can take him from six months to life ban. These allegations on Akmal come under Section 2.4.4 according to which not giving full details of any kind of invitation or contact to PCB's vigilance and security department will be considered as violation of Anti-Corruption Code. Akmal was temporarily suspended on 20 February and he was issued a notice of charge on 17 March. He now has time until March 31 to reply in writing.
It is worth mentioning that Omar is considered one of the finest cricketers in Pakistan and has so far won 16 Test matches, 121 ODIs for his team. And has played 84 T20 Internationals. He has scored a century in this format while scoring a total of 1003 runs. He has scored 3194 runs in 121 ODIs with the help of two centuries. Talking about T20 cricket, he has scored 1690 runs for Pakistan playing 84 matches.
